HISTORICAL ORIGIN

Capoeira Angola is one of the most distinctive living embodiments of Bantu Africa in Brazil, transported by the slaves as a collective expression of the African Diaspora. It has preserved its essence through N'Golo, the rite of passage to adult life, where the young warriors compete against each other for the right to choose their wife from amongst the young women, without having to make a dowry payment.
